Connecting to TP-Secure on Linux (using Fedora 11.0)

Connecting to the SSID TP-Secure in Temasek Polytechnic with Linux can prove to be a very challenging task. I had a hard time configuring my laptop to connect to the network on Ubuntu 8.10. I spent hours trying to figure out a way to connect to the TP-Secure network but it just refused to connect (Although I was happy that the network was at least detected).
